                                                        FAQ's
What do we need to bring?

This Lake Travis rental home is a fully equipped luxury home including a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils. Linens, bedding, towels are also provided. There also is a large stainless steel BBQ off the kitchen balcony and propane is provided too. Just bring personal items (shampoo, body wash etc.) food, beverages (glass bottles are not a good idea!) paper goods and plastic trash bags. A washer and dryer are provided, just bring laundry detergent if you choose to use them. Water shoes are a good idea also and life jackets for swimming are highly recommended. If your group is large, you may want to bring extra folding chairs. Don't forget your flashlight and cooler!

Where do we launch our boats?

Jones Brothers Park is approx 1 mile from the home and the closest of many ramps on Lake Travis. You can see it from the lakeside balcony. See the MAP/AREA INFO tab above for detailed info or call 512-854-7275. $7-$10 fee.

Where can we swim?

The safest places to swim would be off of your own boat or rental boat out on the lake. The marina also has a floating dock with a BBQ and ladder for access in and out of the water which is good for swimming (no diving or jumping), or you can choose the marinas "south 40" area which is generally flatter and shallower. Both areas are steps away from this home. Note: Swimming in and around the marina boats and docks can be very dangerous and is mostly prohibited. There is no lifeguard on duty. Another great place to swim and/or picnic  is next door at Jones Brothers park. As always, water shoes and life jackets are recommended, parental supervision is mandatory, no lifeguards are present.

Where can we fish?

The marina has a covered floating fishing house. It is equipped with lights for night time fishing and is open 24/7/365. Cost is $5 per person per day, fishing or watching. Best bait bet is usually minnows that are sold at most gas stations around the corner on HWY 1431 ( 3 min. away). The marina does not sell fishing licenses.

What about lake levels?

Lake Travis is 64 miles long and is close to 200ft deep at its deepest point. Regardless if the lake is up or down, there is plenty of water for anything you want to do. We simply advise people that if the lake is down, be a little more careful. If the lake is up, there is not much to worry about. Photos shown are a specific point in time and may be different during your stay.

What about groceries, ice, fuel etc. ..........are stores nearby?

Yes. Everything you need and would expect is very close by......pizza, fast food, coffee shops, restaurants etc. The marina has a fuel dock for your boat and also sells ice, sodas, specialty drinks, snacks etc. from the ship store. There is a phone book and local business guide in the home.

What about the cleaning?

We will provide you with basic "check in" and "check out" procedures prior to your arrival. We ask you to do some basic straightening up before you leave, such as dishes washed and left in the dishwasher, dirty towels left over the edge of the tubs, linens stripped and left on the beds, trash removed from the premises and placed in the marina dumpster. That's pretty much it.
